Every morning, as the sun rises over our little corner of southeast Iowa, everyone here at Vande Rose Farms is pretty much hard at work. Each day starts early and usually doesn't end until the sun has long settled in the west.
At first glance you might say we grow crops, raise pigs and manage cattle here, but we do much more than that. At Vande Rose Farms, we believe if you're going to do something, do it right and be the best. It's been that way for more than 100 years. Each and every day, we strive to produce exceptionally flavored beef and pork and do it in a way that is sustainable and responsible. This is the formula that has kept our farms flourishing for five generations. It's how we plan to secure a way of life our children and our children's children can enjoy.
Balanced focus, 100 years in the making
For more than a century, our families have been successful because we've maintained a balanced focus on conscientious farming practices and exceptional tasting beef and pork. We feed no growth promotants, hormones or antibiotics to our livestock. We care for and protect the natural environment around us. And we treat our neighbors, our employees and our customers like family because family comes first.
Our Duroc hogs and Hereford cattle are our livelihood, so it's in our best interest to raise our livestock humanely and keep them comfortable when possible. Family members personally hand select the best Hereford cattle and Duroc hogs for harvesting, and process them in a manner that retains the taste for which both breeds are known.
Taking the time to take the time
Vande Rose Farms is large enough to meet the growing demand for great tasting Premium Hereford Beef and Premium Duroc Pork, but we're small enough to take the time to take the time.
As consumers ourselves, we believed that people enjoy our pork for its great flavor and appreciate how it is raised. We also believe that people want to know what they're eating and where it comes from, so we choose from proven genetic lines, carefully track every animal from its source and maintain extensive production records, all the way to the local foodservice or retail outlet.
